Not in NY, but have some good shots foryou to look at at my website. Has a list of parts used in version 1, and then again in version 2. Just started fiberglasing my front cover around the dvd player. Going to take the head unit out and the rf modulator and go straight into a four channel amp from the sound card. If you have any questions, let me know. Might not be as knowledgable as some on this site, but my systems been up and running for 5 months now.

I would suggest doing things in some kind of order.

Set up computer...how much space will it take, how much power will it use, where will you get the power.

Use it for a while...like a mock-up...then decide what you really want.

Then start planning for the install...read the 'sticky' on fiberglassing. Do some test designs with the fiberglass until you feel you are ready for the big move...

Get a dash from the junkyard to do your mods on...that way if you screw it up, you still have a spare (or can remove all your mods when you sell the car.

I'm from Long Island, Nassau County.....dont have the computer installed yet, but I have almost all of the parts for my case. Most users here choose to build their own PCs, allowing for much more customization options. If you're unconfortable actually building a PC, check out http://www.cappuccinopc.com/ . This may give you an idea what's out there. There are sections in this forum that address the different components of the car PC, ranging from the software aspects to video and audio integration.... Browse through those categories, or just search the entire forums. Almost everything you need to know can be found on already existing threads.

Good luck!

Welcome!
In my experience the ppl here on the board are extremely helpful, so don't hesitate to ask. Take your time, and search/read through the posts, almost everything is answered here.
