From what I recall, there IS an interface available for the BMW screen... I'll see if I can dig up some info... we I think the interface retails for $100-$150... but could be wrong. It would give you a place to feed composite video into the screen. I'll post back once I get something...

BTW, what model BMW? Not 100% sure it matters but figured I better be ready if posed with the question... the one I have seen was for an X5 in our bay at Ultimate... putting a DVD player and overhead... they guy wanted the dash monitor to display the video too. Anyway, lemme know.

Later!

Carputer for BMW

Quickest and most "OEM" like is:

buy an OEM BMW Tuner and install it:

~ 300-1000 USD

buy an IBUS interface

http://www.reslers.de/IBUS/

and get the software for free (there are a couple out there)

1 - http://www.creative-nightshifts.com/carx.htm
2 - http://sourceforge.net/projects/beboxmp3/

Also check out Yahoo groups:

Thank you for taking the time to check/find this info out for me.

Well its not actually for a BMW, its for a Rover 75 on a 2000 plate ( here in UK ) , but as far as i know its exactly the same system ( maybe slightly cut down, my screen does not have an Aux ventilation option ) seeing as BMW bought Rover then went and dumped it after they had taken the mini name.

petec
I already have a tuner ( comes with the screen in the Rover version )and sat nav.
I think i need a little more info on this IBUS interface. im not 100% sure that Rover used this system. I can get no help from BMW about any of this as its not there car and Rover cant help me as they dont seem to know anything ( or BMW just dumped them with the product and no back up )

Thanx MGR Boy
