Need help with installing carputer

HI all... I am completly new to the whole carputer thing just need some advice on wiring the carputer to the car. I have brought 150W opus power supply but im not too sure how to hook it up to the car battery i have also brought this cable set of ebay too http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1 as far as i undersand that this cable set will be ok too use?? also just want to make sure that i connect the positive from the car battery to the positive on the opus power supply and the negitvie from the car battery to the negitive on the power supply then just wire the ignition wire to the igniton??? sorry if this sounds really stupid just dont want to blow anything up.. i did try a search to see if i could find a diagrame but i found nothing

Yep, looks like it should work fine.

Use a multimeter to test all 12V +/- connections before wiring up - but it is quite simple, the red wire goes to the red connection on your battery and then is connected to the Opus red, and so on.

Do you have a copy of the Opus manual - that has instructions on the wiring.

I also tested mine on a 12V dc inside the house first to make sure everything was OK before installing in the car.

The ground (negative) is usally best grounded to a grounding point near where the Opus is - the Chassis should be grounded, once again test your grounding point using a multimeter and check it is low resistance (ensuring it is a good ground)

Nice find on the install kit, it looks like a VERY good deal. Only thing is, you will not be able to run your ground cable back to the battery. So do as stevieg suggested and find a good ground point near the carputer.
