New to Car PC ?!?!?!?!

Hello everybody I'm new to the boards!

Let me run something by you guys. I am very good with computers. I have also installed (ghetto style) my CD player in my old car. However, I recently got a new car and I'm not trying to ‘F’ any thing up (because it aint paid for yet).

So with that said I was wondering if someone could make some suggestion on a very basic/cheap/clean car pc system.

Anyway here what I was thinking:

Core system: E5042D - Intel Pentium IV / Celeron Barebone

TFT: DigitalWW DWW-7VGT

Oh and I just have a few other question.

What do you guys do for radio?

How easy of an install would it be and where can I find some tutorials?

1) Core system - Have a look into Mini-ITX - fine for most needs (inc DVD etc) and very low power consumption. Also consider what you're gonna do for power, Opus is the most widely used choice.

2) Lilliput is a good, cheap option

3) D-Link DRU 100 is supported by most programs (mediacar, voices etc) - not amazing quality though

4) Have a search around the boards, also have a look at other people's install web pages, most inc mine have a lot of info on the pitfalls, problems etc

stevieg I too am new to the idea (just about 2 weeks older than you at it.) I also have a new car that I dont wanna F up. Infact, I'm trying not to mod it at all. I intend to build a carputer enclosure (think sub-enclosure.) I just ordered a VIA EPIA. They consume very little "juice."

Thanks guys.

I fround this Wintergreen - Minibook

What do you think about that? It only has a 10 gig hard drive, however I think it's just a laptop hard drive so I could replace it with a larger one.

I presume they used the ATA100 interface.
