Need some advice on purchases

Ok, this is all I have so far:
(2) Lilliput 7" TS

This Shuttle case is what I have (would like to use this one due to onboard s-video output and audio):
Shuttle XPC Silver Barebone System for Socket 478 at 533/800MHz FSB Intel CPU, Model ST62KS (power supply is OUTSIDE of the case, so I could theoretically replace it)
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...101-425&depa=1

I'm about to go get the compact Gyration mouse and keyboard.

I need recommendations. Not concerned about the price, just want the best I can get. This is going in a showcar and needs to play FM/TV/MP3, video, etc. Plan on using Windows and Media Engine, unless someone has some better suggestions. I am ready to order all the parts that I need now.
I have read through the newbie stuff and have some ideas, but want to hear what those who have already worked out the bugs have to say.

So:
Best power supply, shutdown controller, HD, etc? I know that I won't need a floppy or CD in the machine due to where it is located (you wouldn't believe where it is if I told you).

BTW - everything is going in a 93 RX7. And it needs to tie into the Motec M4 and the MXL gauge cluster - all RS232

Great plans you got there, be sure to post some pics when you installed your setup. VERY CURIOUS

But there is one thing i'm concerned about. You're planning on using an P4 system in your car, correct?
The issue here is power, P4-systems are hungry, very hungry! Sure it can be done, but it's kinda overkill i think.
For playing MP3, video you don't need that much power. If you plan to use a P4, you need sufficient power (more expensive) and the mobo + processor are more expensive.
An alternative could be one of the Epia mobos, i.e. the M10000.

And the money you save here, you could easily use for a Xenarc, they seem to be better build than the lilliputs.

Maybe on the next project I'll use the Xenarcs and the M10000 (for my own car).

On this car, I don't car how much power it has to consume, or what the price point is - it's a show car with a $1500 alternator. With all the money going into it, anything can be done. We need to show videos, play mp3's, control the engine management, have 2 users using the computer at the same time from differnt touchscreens, maybe control some motorization, etc. I'm probably going to install a fingerprint recognition system to crank the car and turn on the computer anyways. So any ideas, or product suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Again, the is car is not a daily driver, so we can use any crazy items needed.

For my own car, I'll go with a much simplier system.

So, suggestions?

You'll need a good dual-head card and a decent processor to run dual displays at once. Have you tried running both touchscreens at once? There might be driver conflicts, or it might see only one.

I've run two touch screens at once, no issues. Actually I had two touch screens and a mouse. They all worked fine with one another.

Did you run the two screens with a dual-head setup? Or were you running a clone setup?
