Well, you don't have too. I'm not really on a budget, but I didn't go with an opus. If you can deal with a manual start/shutdown system, and not surviving cranks, just get a PW-type of power supply. DO NOT, however, get an invertor... these thing drain the last juice out of your battery, are very user unfriendly (need BIG cables and shielding and blah blah blah), will definately have more chance of introducing some sort of annoying whines or garbage into your sound/video signal and also will not survive cranks.
Also, If you're handy with (simple) electronics, you can build your own startup/shutdown controller, and you can spare $$$ on the OPUS.

Forget about the ITPS and PW, they are not worth it...
Go for a Carnetix, and use your existing case P/S.
http://www.carnetix.com/CNXP1260.html
Now about your setup, what about sound?? Are you going via your HU to get sound? If not you need an amp to power your speakers.

My suggestion also.
Even though you say you're not worried about it surviving crank, believe me, once you get it in the car, you'll soon wish it did survive cranks.
Use the Carnetix product along with the PSU already in the case, and you'll be as happy as Larry.

I'm my setup I opted for no HU and went with the http://www.radio-xtreme.com/ wich is not great but does the job.
There are DAB usb radios but they are expensive.

Alright, I've got a question. Other than the convenience factor, what are the disadvantages in manually starting the computer and power inverter?

It's inefficient, can introduce unwanted noise into your setup, but the main thing is that it's inconvenient to have to remember to switch everything on manually and switch everything off manually.
