Diagram inside - Is this correct on how to hook up power USB etc with an Opus?
The 2 wires from the adapter that comes with a USB hub and the lilliput power hookup I want to confirm.

Looks good to me. Thats how I have mine wired. Been running since April '04.
edit:
I would also recommend using an in-line fuse at least on the monitor.

Don't you have to run a ground line to the lilliput?

What case are you using? Most of the Mini-ITX cases have a built in 60w PSU. If you are using one of these. I would reccomend the power supply from CarNetix. It already has output for USB and a 12v touchscreen. Plus, its cheaper, as it is simply a voltage regulator that works in conjunction with the current PSU.

Thanks Bio,
I am running a Micro ATX board with a power hungry AMD processor
I dont think with my set up 60w would be enough or even a 90w. I am also waiting to see if Opus will solve the USB "always on" issue with the new PSU.

Hey
So if someone could find a case with a 90W or 150W power supply, does that mean we don't need the opus? Also from the wiring diagram above how would you get power to a cd-rw/dvd-rom drive? Thanks.

Hi Legend,
You need a DC-DC power supply or an Inverter. The power supply has to survive crank of the engine. Also Opus uses a regulated 12V line so it's much better for your Screen and it has an auto shut down, the ON/OFF lead is monitored to start the PC and to implement a safe shutdown procedure.
As far as the CD/DVD do you see the free molex connector in my drawing?

Good god! 15A fuse is way too big. The Lilliput draws somewhere between 0.5 and 1 amp.

nope, maximum the usb can put out is .5amps
15 amps at 12v is 180w if it drew this much power you couldnt connect it to your power supply now could you...

Yes, what NIC said. Look at the cigarette lighter adapter. It should have a fuse already in there. I would recommend a 1 A. or 1.5 A. fuse max. Same goes for the USB hub.
