You will notice the last picture is a shot of the aftermarket temperature dial/gauge thing. We thought it would be important to take a picture of this as there is a downside to this upper console conversion kit. You'll notice that the outer knob does not have a lit indicator that tells you where on the temperature markings the outer dial is actually pointing to. This isn't a problem during the day, it's a bit of an inconvenience during the night.

He also says that the hottest hot and the coldest cold are not equal (less) than the stock setup. Similarly, he says the AC does not quite blow as hard (heh).

All in all he's still happy, considering we were able to do all of this in a matter of 2 hours and it still looks really stock. The night shots are because he's super proud of his tokyo-by-night effects

Trunk Mount

Don't know if anyone still reads this thread, but I want to mount my PC in the trunk of my 06 accord. I'd love to mount it like a cd changer; hanging down from the celing of the trunk, but between the speakers and those two bars, these seems kinda tough. Any ideas??

thanks

Anyone know if the SNHOND3 will work with the stock unit in a 2003 honda. The one with the single cd/am/fm with no changer or navi.

Because it has the CD/AUX button, but im not sure if it will still allow me to use the single cd player and the aux

Yes

Yes, it will work. The CD/Aux button allows you to cycle through the two inputs. That's how I've got mine set up now.

2006 SE - Manual Transmission

I'm in the process of planning my first carputer. Just about have all of the details finalized except that I'm having trouble taking everything apart.

I know I need to get the trim around the shifter up, then the coin tray/power socket, then the storage box, and finally the HU should come out. However, the instructions I've found for removing all of this are for an automatic transmission. My car has a MT and I can't seem to get the trim around the shifter to come up without putting some serious pressure on it and I'm nervous about breaking it. Is there some trick to this?

If anyone has instructions/experience specifically with a MT any help would be very much appreciated!

Thanks for the quick replay. As far as I'm concerned a manual is the only way to go for the best driving experience, auto just doesn't feel the same.

So all I need to do for the trim around the shifter is give it some more force? Are there any tabs I should be releasing?

The pics are pretty self-explanitory. He just took out the stock storage compartment, and cut holes into it for the screen to fit. Just measure length vs. depth for whatever screen you're using and cut the compartment to match. Then, put it back in.

That is what I originally planned on doing, but then I found out that a replacement storage compartment from the dealer was $160. I still might do it, and then just save the plastic pieces I cut out of the compartment, then if I need to I can glue/paint them back in. Its dark enough that you shouldn't be able to notice the paint job unless you really look.

I don't think so. If you look at the picture with the two screens side by side. The casing around the screens looks completely intact. Most of these screens are 7.3 to 7.6 inches in width. If you cut strips out of each side of the storage compartment, then you have about 8 inches to work with. There would be no need to chop up the screen bezel.

It does look like he painted them black to match though.

thanx for the fast replies...so your saying that the sides of the screen are hidden through the holes he cut on each side of the compartment?
