Thanks. Yup, everything works exactly like it did before.

The rear desk is easy. The speaker cover just POPS up and out of the way then 4 bolts for the 6x9.
Some replacement 6x9's do require them to be installed from underneath though for the speaker cover top clear the new coaxil.

Nice work! I was really trying to avoid cutting into the screen bezel. But seeing how yours came out makes me think I may take that route after all.

Again, well done. Good luck on the rest!

That's good to hear. So all I need to remove is the speaker grills? Do you just pop them off with a screw driver?

Just a flathead in a corner and pry up.. it has a few points that are simple push in type latches..
and YES it does sometimes take a BIT of force to pop upwards first time.

Just a little update on my install. I tried to put the screen compartment back in place, but realized that the sides of the bezel sticking out get caught on part of the side of the trim. I actually cracked some of the bondo work on the screen while trying to force it in. I'm going to rebondo and paint the screen tonight and try to install again tomorrow. I'll probably just cut off the part of the trim that it gets caught on because that gets covered by the compartment anyway.

Sorry to hear that. It was looking soooo good too. I hope it turns out ok. I trimmed that area down with a dremel to make mine fit. It looks fine if you swap the cubby back in, but there is some extra material there.

Here goes nothing

Dont mean to bump this thread but it seems like the most fitting place to start. I am about to start my first CarPuter install on my Honda Accord 2007 LX, this is what I am looking at as far as the setup goes.

- Mainboard: Jetway J7F2WE-2G 2GHz
- Case: Morex 3677 Mini-ITX Case - Black
- Memory: DDR2 533 RAM 1GB
- Hard Disk/Flash: IBM 80GB
- CD/DVD Drive: Panasonic Slotloading CD-RW/DVD Combo (CW-8124-B)
- Power Supply: 160 Watt M2-ATX Intelligent Automotive Power Supply
- PROGIN SBT-168 BLUETOOTH & USB HIGH SENSITIVITY GPS
- Lilliput 7" Touchscreen 629GL-70NP

I want to use the lower storage compartment for the LCD housing seems that some have had some success at this. Any wiring diagrams or similar setup information would be greatly appreciated I do not think I have seem a Accord 07 install yet.

03 accord with Navi

so..heres the question i have. Can i use my navi screen for a carputer, or do i need to install a monitor as well. I would like to continue to use the navi system, and have it able to switch to a pc. i want to use the compartment up front for the pc. Right now i have a MP3 cd player in there, and Honda took the front cover off cause i guess it cant shut. Im hoping the chassis will be fit for a pc, but unlikely.

Also im a CAD guy with data skills and access to SLA machines.

no you cant use the navi screen for the computer you CAN however ditch the navi all together since you are putting in a much better system IMHO but if you dont want to i used the bottom compart for the computer touch screen and wired the PC in the trunk luckily we have alot of room in our cars to hide a computer. check my signature for my "in the making" pictures i still havnt posted any completed project pictures yet but i will by this weekend.

You can use your existing navigation monitor for your car pc in the way you are asking but it depends on your cars make and model. The Car2pc adapter does not work with the Accords navigation so check and see if you can have both the car2pc adapter and video interface working together on the navigation system you have. You won't have touchscreen though.

These devices interfaces with the OEM display and lets you switch inputs on it. It only takes in composite video inputs however so you will need a video card that has composite out (dunno if those exist) or one with a S-video out and then use a S-video to composite converter.

The quality will be no where near what you get with a VGA input to an LCD monitor, but it is possible. I can't say if the quality is acceptable since that depends on what you will be displaying and what frontend software configuration you will be using. I'm sure that some software mode can be done to a frontend that will give it enlarged thinner fonts which will be easier to read from a lower resolution display setup. I think Car2PC.com has a simply frontend browser that can be used in these cases but I'm not sure.

thanks for the info, it sounds better to actually then use that spot for the monitor instead of the pc, because graphics is everything. it sounds actually easier too. keep them seperated. as long as i can output sound to my stock system im good. I have more desire to be bluetooth enabled and wifi internet ready, as well as have a wireless card for those trouble spots. I typically can sync my systems at home via wireless network, but while im out i would like to be able to get google on the road, and play my media files, email and all that great stuff....just a matter of cash i sure
