Sound card issues

I am running audigy 2 Sound blaster on a p3 500 mhz.. I have run cables up the middle for all my pc...usb, vga...there is no power running up the middle.

1. I am running the rca cables from the sound card through a splitter, to a PAC-AANIS audio module inpute device that hooks directly to the auxillary SAT port in the back of my head unit.

2. Power goes down the passenger side and speaker wires all up the driver side. The pc goes in the trunk. I am testing the pc through hooking it up as if it were in the home...i.e. from a wall socket, to an extension cord, to the regular PS unit to the pc. I don't have an opus yet. However, I am only testing the computer as of now. I am getting a terrible muffled noise through the speakers. I hear the music, but still get this terrible muffled noise and feedback.

3. HOWEVER!, when I hook up an ipod through the same rca cables in the trunk, the sound is perfect.

What gives! I don't have the motherboard touching metal. I can't understand why the ipod sounds great and the sound card sounds like crap. Please help. I am ready to put this thing in the ocean.

ALSO, I took the entire pc out of the car and hooked it up to my speakers in the house and it sounds fine. I just don't get it.

see....I remember asking about this previously.....i fyou are going to run a dc-dc psu there is no need to ground it apparently, since you are grounded through the PSU....

but...on another note....and this is a long shot.....would the required specs for that sound card and the specs of your machine have anything to do with it? *out on a limb here*
