Question reguarding shuttle CarPc's

So, ive been lurking here for a little while now, not too long though, and like everyone else here, I am in the process of building a CarPc. Wrote out a list of everything I was going to need, planned everything out, and found out, for the cost of the system I would be building, I could build a much better shuttle system for about the same amount. Ended up going with the shuttle system, at 500 I built a AMD 3200+ 64 bit system with 768 megs of ram, and a lower end Geforcefx 5500. A very decent little system that can do more then what about even priced carpc designed ones could do. You might say that it is overkill, in a way yes, in others no, for those long nights when I have to sit infront of a site (I do security work) where there is nothing to do for 12 to 14 hours straight, might as well have a bit of entertainment computer gaming wise.

Anyways, on to the point. The shuttle uses a 200W power supply. So far, the only ones I have seen that are in that range are Meistro's. If I use an external DC - AC power supply rated 400W wired directly to my battery, how could I get it so that the computer would turn on / shut off with my ignition? The Startup / shutdown controllers seem to only be for the Via boards. Obviously I do not want it to have cold shutdowns. Would it be more in my interests to either try Meistro's or some other brands DC - DC power supplys? If so, can anyone point me in the direction? Forgive me if this post is inane or if it is listed somewhere else, I did use the search function several times before posting.

I would really like to know exactly what a "shuttle" PC is. I'm not computer ignorant, but I have never heard this term used before, what is it exactly?

Paul.

It's a brand name

They do some small barebone PCs (which comes with casing, motherboard and PSU).

It's been hard to determine which shuttle that OPUS 150 actually WORKS with. Would be nice if the store listing actually said which ones they are compatible with, and what set of USB/Firewire/etc devices and hd's could work with the 150watt rating.

I have seen the opus, and was planning on getting one. The problem is, I need 200W. The watt calculator recommends a 250W but the shuttle is currently using a 200W and there isnt any problem.
