Hi, I have a E36 BMW of 1993; the car has not the OBD interface. Can I interface the pc to my car for real time value or other diagnostic system.
Thanks Mario

I'm still looking for this as well.

The only thing I can think of is connecting to the 20 pin OEM connector and trying to get info out of it.

But the software is expensve.

I have just buyed the Carsoft 6.5 with the interface; but the result is not confortable because my model not give the real data. I'd like have live data in an other way; for the moment I have installed an opto relay & i/o board that permit me to read some data .. but not all.

Man, I'd really love to see what you mean by the IO board, or if you could provide some links for it.

Btw, is this the interface you got with Carsoft 6.5?

Yes, I buyed an Hw interface like that in the figure. I use the Carsoft 6.5.
My goal is to create a custom software with which I can read the data from ECU (like sensor values, etcc,...), but I don't know the protocol to use and the way I must use to interface and develop the software.
Can someone help me ?

Thanks RoadThunserS
