Suggestions Please
hi, i'm building my carputer setup and i'd like to know if you guys had any comments/suggestions for it.
HARDWARE:
xenarc 700ts
via epia m10000 motherboard
512mb ram
40gig laptop drive
slot load dvd-combo drive
sound blaster audigy 2nx
d-link usb wifi card
d-link bluetooth usb
holux gm-210 usb gps reciever
SOFTWARE
windows xp professional (nlited?)
centrafuse front end
iguidance gps software
i'm wiring the opus to the battery with 10 gauge wire (and 15 amp fuse)... i think that'll be enough, because the computer won't sit too far away from the battery (bmw's battery sits in the trunk)
im going to get my ignition sense from my car's wiring harness, and run it all the way to the back
any suggestions and/or things that i should change? thanks for the input.

computer comes on automatically during ignition right? so i won't have to press any more buttons or switches or whatever.. and then automatically shuts down when i pull my keyout, right?
and then if the computer won't shut down, opus will automatically turn off at 11 volts, which means i could start the car then, right?

hehe thanks.
i'll also be wiring my lcd and audigy2nx to my opus
on the 4 pin molex wire that's usually giving power to the hard disk, the yellow wire is 12v, so i'll use that and a black wire for my xenarc right?
and then the red wire is 5v, so i'll wire that to my audigy right??
thanks..

The Opus manual is available as a pdf if I am not insane. or even if I am.

emdzey01, you need to post less and read more.
The answers to all your questions are here in the forums. Get a tasty beverage and a snack and start reading.
