Hey all Laptop Carputer question?

Hey i have a decent laptop i was actually going to use for parts but was wondering if i can use it as a carputer?

Could i essentially run a lcd touch screen to the laptop itself and install it via usb? How would i power the laptop if lets say i install it in my trunk.
Is there anything else i am missing?
Thanks in advance for any help and/or pointing me in the right direction!

You need to get yourself a power adaptor that plugs into the lighter socket (you can cut the plug off and hard-wire it) and the touchscreen plugs into your video output and USB ports, use the search dropdown and all will be revealed.

I went down to the auto parts store and got an add-a-circuit (plugs into fuse box) and wired a female end of a cigarette lighter splitter Y-cable to it (cut one of the female ends off) and use it to power the laptop (I have a DC to DC car/airplane adapter from Targus to power my laptop). You can also use your regular power cable for your laptop and a power inverter into the femail end. This method is how I power both my laptop and my Xenarc monitor.
