Exclamation 1994 Camaro Placement / General Help (Pics Included)

I just got a new 1994 Chevrolet Camaro. Since I am going to be keeping this car for at least 5 years I thought I might as well install a carputer then just putting my laptop in the passenger seat.

The upper hole where in my dash where my stereo used to be the dimensions are 8 inches wide, 3 inches tall, and 9 inches deep. The lower hole by my shifter used for storage dimensions are 6 inches wide, 5 inches tall, and 9 inches deep.

Picture 2 (Warning 1.5MB): http://youreconnection.com/car/IMG_0411.jpg

I would like a Xenarc touchscreen if possible. I really like the 700tsv and the 700IDT is pretty good as well. So if someone could let me know where the best place to put the screen at I would really appreciate it.

Ok now moving on to the carputer. For the carputer I would like to be able to have gps and play music through my car spakers. Should I buy one of the premade systems in the mp3 car store or build my own. I would appreciate it if you would make a list of what I should get. Also I know that they sell cassette adapters to play music but my car won't have a stereo if I put it where the stereo used to be. So how will I be able to get my music to be able to play through my car speakers?

Thanks for all your help. If you need any more information or pictures please let me know. By the way trying to keep this as cheap as possible but still get a good system.

I already looked at those and none of the have the same dash as mine.

If I get the 700IDT will it stick out of my dash any and how do I power it, etc? Also what should I use for pc (premade from mp3 store or build).

Thanks

I cant really think of anything unless you molded the two peices together...

you'd even have room for a slot load.

You can relocate the vac control to the bottom and use the 1 din + the vac control place for the screen.

Looks nice, just not sure if I am good enough to do mold two pieces together. By the way what monitor would you reccomend to put in there?

Have to agree with escalade on this one, either join the two or do a custom fab one. You have plenty of space there to be creative.

Well I am not so confident in my self modding my car's dash. Since I have never done anything remotely close to this.

Why can't I just use something like the Xenarc 700IDT?
