home pc to car pcparts

i just had a custom pc built for my house and i was wondering if i am able to take some of the parts lke motherboard rams and other stuff to put into the new car pc casing or would i have to buy new parts.i understand i neeed a thinner cd drive and all dat wat bout teh other parts

many people do this with shuttle PC's and convert the power supply to dc-dc...

the problem with a desktop being used in a car is that its not set-up to conserve energy so you will need a stronger psu, and maybe even a deep-cycle battery to replace the starter battery to handle the excesive drain.
