I just upgraded from onboard audio to a decent soundcard - the soundcard on my thinkpad was horrible - the audigy 2 zs (
http://www.creative.com/products/pro...&product=10769) sounds a lot better but I think it can get even better
It has the 3 standard 5.1 outputs (front/rear/sub¢er - typically green/black/orange or pink)
My input to my HU is via the PAC AAI-NIS (
http://www.pac-audio.com/products/aai.htm#aainis) - it gives 2 sets of RCAs (standard red/white - left and right inputs)
What is the best way to get the best sounding audio with this setup - right now i'm just outputting from just one of the outputs (the green one) from the audigy card and inputting into the pac aai-nis with a converter to the 2 RCA plugs and although it sounds good I know this can't be the best way to do this
with that being said i'd like to keep it under $100 if possible for if it's worth it i'd go higher
