I just recieved my ibus from Rolfe and am trying to figure out how to connect it to the cd changer. The cd changer plug has three ports while the ibus has 4 prongs. What goes where?!? Please help!

Hi Stevo759
I just joned this forum,
There are 4 pins on the interface:
+12V: (any 12V source switched or unswitched) you can get hold of.
GND: and Ground in the car
IBUS: the Ibus line itself. there are several locations you can get hold of the IBUS line, In US-Models there's usually a pre-wired CD-Changer cable in the trunk, if you want to mount it there...
NTSC: This is for enabling the Rear View Camera Input n the Nav Unit (Pin 17 on the Nav unit) IF YOU HAVE A SOFTWARE LIKE CARMES etc that enables that switch.

Hey Stevo,
It's been a few months, but I believe this is how it's plugged in.
On your IBUS interface, the pins are marked with IBUS ->+12V -> GND. The CD changer cable has 3 wires.. I believe the brown wire is your GND, the white w/stripe is your IBUS.
If you want to confirm, you can hook up a voltmeter and check the voltages. The IBUS line should read +12V and fluctuate when it's sending messages. The +12V will stay +12V.

There is some documentation on how to connect it at http://www.eedesignkits.com, but it is for the USB IBUS interface instead of the serial port one. Take a look at it, it might be helpful...

I have been trying to get the iBus adapter to work on my buddy's 2003 330Ci - I am tapping into the CD changer harness in the trunk and have found the +12 and iBus wire. THe trouble is that the iBus wire only reads 0v! I have checked the telephone fuse and it is allright. Any ideas? Any help from the masters will be greatly appreciated!
