X Box: Good or bad?

I'm about to buy a car that has a in dash screen (also with TV turner), only problem is that it doesn't have a cd or dvd player. It used to have a stacker in the boot but no longer does. Looking at the price of DVD stackers I was thinking it might be cheaper to put a modified XBOX in there. I want to play music and movies, games are a bonus. I don't want gps or nav. Any ideas on whether this is a good option. I'm not familiar with the carputer culture.
Cheers.

If that's all you want, then the modded Xbox is a good choice.

I have an XBOX in my car, never played it while driving (obviously) but my friends get a headache playing basically any game while the car is in motion, within a few minutes. I guess it's alright if you're the driver, when playing while parked...

Good thing... GPS is addicting. Especially when you add netstumbler in the mix.

How is it addicting? I"m on a tight budget, and I've got what I need for now, but will buy the GPS mouse from my cousin once she gets her sharkfin GPS thingermajiggy in, and I'm curious what type of fun I can get out of it, aside to being able to see restaurants along your route and whatnot...

something to keep in mind.... xbox has pathetically low RAM to be used as a carputer and there's no upgradeability.
