Looking for front/rear fading and sub level control, Audigy?
I've been reading and reading and reading. I think there is a Sound Blaster Audigy product that will do what I want. I'm looking to keep control over front to rear fading and more importantly, level control for my sub. I'd also like EQ adjustment. Is there an Audigy product that will do this? Would all I need to do is run the small plug out to RCA's and then run the appropriate spot? Would these come with software to run on the touchscreen to control the levels? Lastly, are there any other products other than SB Audigy I should look at?

id grab a sound processor that adjusts these things... at least for EQ and stuff, most 4channel sound cards allow you to fade front to rear. but honestly, when would you ever use it?
my audigy 2 nx EQ sucks ***, i wouldnt ever touch the thing. if you really wanted an eq i suppose you can use winamp/RoadRunner, or if you use windows only tweak with windows media player.

Control over the sub output is the primary concern. The remote bass knob for my amp is a big competition sized controller rather than the little knob most have. The stuff I'm looking for is pretty standard in an given head unit. Has no one developed this for CarPC's?

Okay, I have to use USB. Is the Audigy 2 NX my only option? What cables do I need to feed the front, rear and sub amps?

sub runs off one of the rca's on the center/sub output. fronts run from fronts, and rears run from rears.
i think theres an sblive 5.1 usb that you can use for 50 bucks.

if you use 5.1 from the audigy you need to do something to have a center channel in the front or someway to turn rightfront and left front into your center also. since for movies the center channel is the main for voices. plus the 5.1 setup thru the audigy, the sub channel is kinda weak, and the inside speakers have too many highs. Id suggest turning on the 4 channel option and then jumping your sub from the rear channels. sounds much better but to each his own. I messed with the audigy for about 2 weeks once it was in to get the sound tuned and correct.

You might want to check out the Creative Soundblaster MP3+ USB soundcard. Only outputs sound to 2-channel but ouputs sound to pre-amp RCAs and from there you could use a an equalizer/fading component. Try www.crutchfield.com I used quite a bit of things from there to get what I wanted. Decent prices as well.

looks like it does have controls for front, rear and sub. I can't find if it works with any USB sound cards.

on my audigy 2 zs notebook. I can control the front and rear speaker levels from the audigy software. you can also control the levels from either the eq on the audigy software or the EQ from winamp. one or the other. id guess that the usb version still has the same software I would guess.

From some more research, it looks like the M-Audio Sonica Theater may have what I'm looking for. Most sound cards have the center and sub in the same 3.5 plug. How are you guys getting just the sub output to 2 RCA's?
