Newbie
Hey guy's,
Newbie here just popping into say hello. Don't have anything fancy yet. PS2 and 7" motorized headunit with two sun visor monitors at the moment in my civic jordan but i'm selling it this week and thinking of going for a 00 Legacy b4-rsk. Hopefully if i get the legacy I'll be thinking of something in the lines of these for it.

first of all, wtf is "yis", thats lame
but anyway!
imho, that is grossly overpriced, if you're able to do everything yourself (assembly of parts/install of os) then buy the parts and do it yourself
$1000 for that? i dont think so
you can get via mobos for about $200, hard drive for like $200 (bigger than what the gnet has)
and get yourself a dsatx (or other SDC) for under $200
there you just saved yourself $400 for that screen!

I could build a normal size pc but for the car pc I wouldn't have a clue how to go about building it, getting parts, etc and i wouldn't have a clue about voltage meters, cabling, etc. I'd be afraid i'd damage somethin or the car even worse.

you're going to have to wire that stuff in too ya know....
no one is telling you to build a normal size PC for your car. That link was to help you get on your way.
if you're only interested in an all in one solution, go for it. However, I'd encourage you to branch out a bit, learn a little, and have some fun with this.

i know but there would be a little less to go wrong. I know no1 was telling me to build a normal size pc it's just i wouldn't feel very confident with building a small one and installing it in the car myself. But sure what harm, I'm aswell to try it so at least i'll know how it all works. i'll use the screen cause of the radio and dvd drive built in and because you can use the dvd drive for the pc also and try build the pc myself. i want to have wireless, bluetooth (for the mobile) and gps installeed aswell. Is it a hard process? If I get the car this weekend i'll probably put the building in motion straight away. Screen first then pc then integrate pc with screen
Cheers

So if i ordered a Ampie Car Computer Case, a VIA EPIA EN15000 Mini-Itx Motherboard, a DSATX 220 Watt Automotive Power Supply then a 1gb ram chip and a laptop drive would this be nearly the pc built. I cant see with the m/b if the processor is included or not. Found all these in the store.
Thanks for the help.

That is exactly what this site is for, to help you do those exact things. However, it will require you to search, read, understand, and learn about how to do it.
Like Red said, if you want an all in one, drop it in and use it solution (insalled by some installer) then that product is as good as any for the price. But, if you are willing to take the time to learn and do it yourself, you will save money, and have EXACTLY what you want, well, with in the bounds of what is currently possible.
