Yes, the 294 is the super screen. It says 294 on the box I got.
I have one of these and there are some drawbacks.
I'll start with the pros:
cheap, cheap, cheap, preatty bright display, number of inputs, the power regulator is built in, so its supposedly designed to work off of an unregulated 12 volt supply (10-16 volts if I recall) although I went ahead and hooked it into my carnetix p1900 psu
Cons:
1. odd native resolution (something strange like 720x480) which almost no video cards support. . .this forces you to accept one of 2 things, low resolution 16:9 (works for me) or a higher resolution 4:3 aspect ratio which distorts your dvds and pictures.
2. how do I put this? It only starts if you start from a cold boot (must go through post). this means it (at least mine) doesn't work well with standby mode. Also, it gets confused it the resolution and timing gets changed on it too fast (startup b/w post and going into the xp boot screen).
3. low native resolution (see above)
4. lacks bells and whistles of xenarc and lilliput such as switch to rear when in reverse (I believe this is a feature I remember reading about), higher native resolutions, etc.
All in all, I believe it was a good value for the money, but it has some tradeoffs if you are willing to live with them. I don't really regret the purchase as it saved me several hundred dollars, but I would like to have a nice xenarc one day. It definitely doesn't ooze quality.
