Carputer in Truck, CD-ROM in Glove Compartment?

I've been reading and so far have a list of selected parts to use. I'm really new to this but i'm trying to figure out how this would work though. What is the easiest way to have a CarPuter in the trunk of the car but also having another CD-ROM Drive and USB Inputs? I know I could just get a USB HUB and an 10' USB Extension cable, but how would I set up the CD-ROM would I need to find a 10' SATA Cable? And How would I direct power to it, would I need to directed it back to the CarPuter in the trunk? Thanks guys for your input.

Could this work?

I found this:

Well it seems I can run USB so that should be fine. Would this power cord work fine with it?

It seems the power from the SATA will be coming in from a floppy type of power cord. I'm not too sure with the electronics of this configuration but will it work? Will it be a stable configuration?

another thing that will work is to get an external HD or CD rom enclosure, you can gut it out and use the power cord that came with the enclosure so you dont have to worry about running the power cable from the trunk.
