Exclamation Help with first carPC. '06 Mazda 3

I have posted on this forums awhile back about starting my new carPC but i am getting closing to getting serious about this, the only thing that's hanging me up from buying any of the equiptment needed for this is that i'm not sure i'll be able to\have a place to mount\put my touchscreen monitor i want to buy. it'll be an 8" dynamix touchscreen, the following link is an ebay listing for it as well as another link for the listing of a dash kit i found for a "2 DIN" stereo\GPS dash kit.

8'' touch screen

2 DIN dash kit

my question is, will those 2 be compatible? i've asked the sellers over and over and never got a clear answer. one of the sellers was foreign and had no clue what i was talking about.

if these 2 aren't or even are compatible and someone has a better idea or a better idea on a place to mount my monitor please mention it here. i want to get this started but i'm not real sure if it's going to be possible without doing some serious fabrication (which i don't want to do)

i want to be able to buy "kits" if i have to instead of fabricating and things to fit nicely together with slight modification if i have to. i'm not really into and don't have the tools needed to make my own dash kit or anything else needed to be created on my own.

i work at bestbuy so i can get most of the stuff needed to build the computer part fairly cheap, my main concern and the thing really catching me is finding an area to put the screen that it doesn't look stupid lol

thanks in advance and any helpful responses are appreciated.

an idea...may be too much work

I know you said that you didn't have many tools but this looked pretty slick and I'm sure he may be able to help you a little more. Not sure how different the 05 is to the 06 but have a look.

Most "kits" are designed to work with a factory navigation system. You'll be lucky to find a screen that will fit without at least some fabrication required, excepting the in-dash units.

I think this is as close as you'll get to a kit: http://www.digitalww.com/store/prodd...p?prod=DWW6500

It's a 6" touchscreen, radio, amplidier and optical drive in one unit.

You never found that link, did you? Why? It's hard to find in the NavBar across the top of the forums, amongst a lot of other crap.

TELL MP3CAR YOU WANT A LINK TO THE FAQ IN A MORE OBVIOUS, NOTICABLE LOCATION HERE.

in reply to #2, i'd love to get something like that. but the thing is i wouldn't even know where to start on fabricating my own flip up thing like that and i'd have to cut a big hole in my original piece and i'd have only one chance on getting it right, so i don't think that's a great option lol.

if i could get something like that by purchasing it that'd be awesome cause then i wouldn't have to put my stock HU in my glove compartment like another thread i saw on here of someone doing to preserve the clock LCD and stuff.

in reply to #3, i thought about getting just something like that but i've found parts and custom building it would let me put in better stuff for the price and i'd be able to upgrade later on if i wanted. my only problem is finding a place and actually mounting my touchscreen LCD that i'd like to get (whether it be the dynamix or a lilliput i don't care, i just want a decent one that'll work and not break on me later on down the road.)

thanks for the replies and if anyone else has any suggestions please feel free to reply.
