Cool Double Din Carputer?

Howdy!

I'm curious, has anyone seen or heard of a company making a double DIN touchscreen monitor/carputer combo? I am currently in the works in putting a carpc together, and thought that this would be a great idea! Doing a google search (well a brief one at work) yielded little to no results.

Alternatively, are there any doulbe din vga's that have a built in amplifier with preouts (like for subs). Thanks in advance for any advice!

Wow thats special.... I see it is "powered by streetdeck". Is it possible to take the unit it, format it, and put my own stuff on there? Are there any other alternatives out there?

Thanks so far!

Distributes, not makes.

There are no double-DIN alternatives that are currently on the market.
Lilliput offers a single-DIN computer that includes an optical drive, but no screen. It's meant to be paired with a single-din flip-out screen.

Be aware that you can purchase off-the-shelf components and put together something comparable, if you're willing to do some fabrication. It would likely save you a few bucks, as well.

Another alternitive is the recently anounced Dashpac from http://www.eyelectronics.co.uk/ - The've posted a bit of info here.... how ever still waiting on prices.

No matter which you go to been a direct replacement there are currently no adaptors other than Car2PC which still need the OEM head.... that been said I did mail them with a request because I would ideally like to remove my head unit when I upgrade to a car with a double din slot in a couple of years or so... how ever I still prefer the guts as it where in the back so if the screen is nicked you don't loose the majority of your music / setup etc.

It is also reasonable to research options. Searching for the text of your thread title: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/sear...archid=3312498 Will get you additional information related to this discussion.
