oh sorry to hear that.

i was just looking at the Turion 64 MT-37 and it seems like a decent buy and low budget.

but can you get any socke 754 board?? i mean socket 754 is really absolote nowadays.

I am thinking maybe of AMD Sempron 64 3400+ Palermo 2.0GHz

i just dunno what board to get for it, apparently it doesnt run hot at all.

Well i just went to Fry electronics and bought the cheapest mobo the ECS k8m800 or somethign like that, i havent bought the fan yet so i can't test it out yet...

anyways keep in mind u will need a copper heat sink from MSI called the MSI Mobile Pad. I couldn;t order it from them online so i went straight there to their office building which is like 5 minutes from my house.

The funny thing is their office is right next door to NewEgg lol... anyways i showed during closing hours but i met one of the employees and told him my situation and he ended up giving me a free Mobile Pad for troubles which was very nice of him...

Anyways here is a link to all the mobos that will work

Here is the link for how to install the MSI Mobile Pad and click on the Store link to order it (good luck ordering)

And finally here a link on how to use it on a desktop

ive found a way around, i dunno if its cheaper or not...it has a little less power and apparently runs really cool..

BIOSTAR TForce 6100 AM2 Socket AM2 - 74.99
AMD Sempron 64 3000+ Manila 1.6GHz - 42.99

im just now trying to figure out if 1.6hz is going to be sufficient enough for my carPC..hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

haha thats pretty much the same, the sempron runs cool as hell and is easily overclocked to over 2.00GHZ but i dont even need that, i can easily OC it to 2Ghz and it will still run under 30c with stock heat sink imo.
the thing with the turion is that they have one on newegg for about 69 bucks but with not heatsink so thats an extra 30 bucks if you want a good one....
