driver door interior light does not come on

Hi, I have a 2003 GT and when I open the driver door the interior light does not come on and if the headlights are on I don't the the annoying (but crucial!) beeping. The light comes on when I open the passenger door.

I checked all the fuses. Does anyone have a clue how to fix this problem?

Wrong forum.

Check the little rubber thing that the door slams against. Maybe it is broken.

1) well, this is not a car forum, so your answers will probably be limited
2) since you gave no info other than you car is a 2003 gt, your answers will definately not be specific

so here goes...

On some cars its a simple switch, on others its integrated into the latch assembly. Either way, it is likely just a stuck switch. When the switch sticks closed, it thinks the door is always shut.

this is a door switch for a 2003 FORD MUSTANG GT

It certainly sounds like a door switch that is stuck in the door closed position. My father is an auto mechanic and he will often remove the rubber boot around the switch, lube the exposed switch with WD-40, and work it back and forth with his hand about 20 or 30 times to get it to work again.

Good luck.
