Classic Nintendo Controllers
I have a pretty cool nintendo emulator and am hoping that I can start using a standard nintendo controller to play the games with. I know I would have to do some kind of wire splicing, since I would preferably like to make the controller usb compatible.
I have searched the net a little and come across some relevent info, but the only stuff I find (stuff = one and only source) entails connecting the nintendo controller to an adb(?) board, and then outputting a usb cable. I was hoping it would be simpler and a little more portable than this.
If anybody has some information on this topic, such as related hacking experience please let me know. Thanks

I've looked into this a little (and this will be a very crude explanation) and found that they don't operate like you imagine a controller with buttons would. The buttons operate in sort of timer arrangement. I think the solution you found earlier may be the best one.

I use a playstation controller with a usb adapter from Radio Shack. This way you can play games from all the different consoles.

So the question then becomes:
Will I use only the nintendo emulator, and do I love the original controllers enough to go to the hassle of making an adapter?
By the way, how much is the usb play station adapter?

$9.99 works great!
I've got 2 of them, one for the car, one for my laptop. I keep forgetting to try using them both at the same time for 2 player action

Well, they have IR ones I think.. I'm not so sure about RF.
If you're feeling especially um.. insane.. you can try hacking a RF keyboard into a psx controller. Much props if you pull it off

LOL!
I found out that Mad Katz makes a RF wireless PS2 controller. Looks almost identical to the real deal. Has a built in rechargeable LIon battery. That's the best I've seen. I'm probably going to get two of those for in my ride.

MadCatz 900Mhz Wireless Controller, PS2
I did a google search for them.
Here is the review I read about them. I'll probably getting some for my ride. It's just a matter of finding a vendor that sells them.
