HDD Problem

Hi,

A while since I've been on here, but you guys have never let me down yet. I wa looking for some help with an HDD problem I seem to be having on my desktop. I keep all my media storage on one physical drive. 160GB Maxator SATA. I noticed a while ago some video files would freeze and refuse to restart.

I tried copying a few across to another drive, and got a cyclic redundancy check error. I have tried running CHKDSK, but it just seems to hang.

Anyone know how i can solve this, or do I need a new one ??

Thanks,

Matt

Download it, save it on a bootable DOS disk (or CD) and run this. IT's a deep-level HDD diagnostic. It will tell you if your HDD is failing.

I think you already realize that the HDD is failing, but this will confirm your suspicions.

You never found that link, did you? Why? It's hard to find in the NavBar across the top of the forums, amongst a lot of other crap.

TELL MP3CAR YOU WANT A LINK TO THE FAQ IN A MORE OBVIOUS, NOTICABLE LOCATION HERE.
