VIN decoder/generator

Anyone know where to find (or buy) a "vehicle identification number" VIN decoder or VIN generator?
I thought the kbb.com site used to do it.
Any other site that can decode vin numbers, or that even sells the software?
Yes, I found 2 (DataOne software, and another) but they look like some real expensive stuff.

Yes, I appreciate it. I guess I did not make myself clear in my first post.
I need something that shows what equipment the car came with, like engine and trans info, and interior features.

Thanks though

I don't know of any software (never looked) but I use to have (years ago) a cheat sheet the deciphered each letter/number. Perhaps in the meantime you might find something like that floating around, might even be in the NADA or Blue Book?
