You'll probably be better off asking this question in a jeep forum. This is a computer forum.

Definately not the right place, but to answer your question, Yes. Larger rolling diameter will make you travel faster than what your speedo indicates. Look for a "tuner" or "power programmer" for your jeep. Most of those can re-program the vehicles computers and change the diameter to fit your needs.

Replace the gear in tailshaft of the trans housing. If its for your 08 jeep like your name says, i doubt its mechanical.

If its mechanical, search for a speedo gear. I had a 98 Grand Cherokee previously and had to change out the speedo (speedometer) gear when I lifted it and put bigger tirees on it. Back in 98, Jeep put them about halfway down the underside of the vehicle. It was a 2 minute switchout.

Its probably mechanical. I dont know what replacement gear to use. I would check out a jeep forum. Im SURE you could find an answer on one easily.

I managed to find the exact guide I used on my ZJ. Hopefully it will help out. At the time I did it, I looked in the yellow pages for a speedometer repair shop. They had my gear in stock and I can't remember the price, but it was pretty cheap.

wow - so I'm looking at all of your threads and realizing that none of your questions are CarPC related but rather are Jeep related.
As has already been pointed out to you, this is a CARPC forum, not a JEEP forum...
I would really recommend finding a more appropriate forum for your questions.
This is kinda like walking into McDonald's and asking for a Papa John's Pizza...it just doesn't work that way!
