should i even bother put in a carputer?

So...after a long, tense while, i finally got a set of temp wheels t hold me over until things settle down at my mom's new restaurant- a 1989 Volvo 740GL.

Shut up raf, don't laugh, mine wasn't born a Ford POS

Anywyas, i have about...damn it...8...9 different variations of a carpc i can install in about 24 hours, bt....is it worth it? i mean, put it this way, other than for the ability to test out my HUD....is it really worth it? Poll out people!

lol well, the good news is, there WILL be a carpc in that Volvo...

depending on how long Avalue takes with my mobo, i will let you know about how awesome a pc it will be.

I will have to start with the sound system anyways, so yeah, through the pocket pc i will go first, then i will do what is necessary when i et my board back. If not, i'll use one of my my SBCs to create a decent basic CPC

I took mine out for repairs, upgrades, new LCD, ETC ETC and it looks like
I could get an entire "CarPC like" setup in some of the new larger screen
GPS systems - for around, or less than, the upgrades to my current CarPC

I like a computer better - more options, but the other is cheaper now,
just checked

Yeah, i hear that. I have been standardizing my base system with SBC's and mini ITX, which i can do other projects with when its out dated. The LCD...yeah...its aggravating to upgrade. I really wanted to just get it right the first time and swap out systems as my car progresses, with the only upgrades being new modules i add.

BTW, if you want to sell.... i'll see what my funds say.

Most definitely needs a NiteMax tied into it, GF.

Good luck with the new wheels!

Do a full install! Nitemax for sure.

I remember jumping ours on the back roads once. Smooth landings

HAPPY RESURRECTION DAY!!!!

if my typing sucks, i aplogize, my fingers are numb. I am installing my wiring into my volvo. It will be about a week until the damn system bed is in. Funny things i just wanted to talk about with the poll

Choice one leads with 12, followed by 10 for choice two. Choice 3 has 3 votes...even though it is essentially a basic car puter lol. Two votes for me not putting a damn thing into it.

3 out of 9 people who voted for Choice 5 talk to me at LEAST biweekly. 2 others.... You know who you are!

I would like to congratulate TheSovriegn for being either the most indecisive and fickle, or being the lover of check boxes, being the only person who voted for all 5 .
