Automatic transmissions and fluids
Can anyone tell me what to put in a ZF4HP18Q ?
I have had all answers, dexron III, dexron II, ford mercon V ....
My dealer says nothing, its filled at the factory and is filled for life.... yeah like that was before i drained it, I want fresh !, it cant be good at its job after 90,000 miles......
So, if anyone knows the answer, or some pointers etc.

First, What is a ZF4HP18Q ? (guessing from context it is a automatic tranny)
second, Dexron II was replaced by dexron III and Mercron V well, they are all examples of Automatic transmission fluid. Pick one...

OK, but if the cause of the failure dex3 or something else? (hard to know)
Well, use the mercon if you do not like the feel of dex. Or get a real professional gearhead to say what to use....
