Bypass "MP3" filter at work

Recently they started filtering any URL with the word "MP3" in it - i suffer from withdrawal symptoms every day I'm at work now

I can get "store.mp3car.com" but it blocks "mp3car.com"

Is there a way to bypass it (without the admin knowing)?

Well it shares it with Streetd!ck for one.

But that's another can of worms.

well you can use 207.210.89.83 for mp3car.com but you would need to know the directory that the mp3car site lives in

they got that site and a 100 more i tried blocked too. The only way i was able to get in was using "Google mobile" search engine. Not ideal 'cause the site if formatted for a mobile device (very small print) but good enough for a quick fix when the cravings hit

Thanks anyway.

Can you not remote desktop home, and browse that way? Always used to work at school.

ha ha I used to do that too.

I also used to bypass the firewall at my work by finding where the dsl came in and attached a router before it went through the firewall. just make sure you don't broadcast the SSID!

what happens when you try and access the proxy site using the ip address instead. that one has a dedicated ip unlike mp3car

Yeah we installed a wifi router "back in the day" by duct taping it to the inside of one of those bubble colourful macs. The crt ones with all that wasted room inside, so it fit well. Took them a long time to find it, we did broadcast the ssid but this was just so we could use laptops in class. Why are school's IT people so far behind the times always, so scared "of the wifi".

Couldnt attach to the source and bypass because all of our lines are T3 that run to a central office for all schools in the district where they block everything, and from there go out. So when the T3 line comes into the school it is already filtered. At least uni is all free!
