Is it legal to setup an online account for Car Donation New York for a personal car?
You can take the donations with Car Donation New York.
The donors can NOT write it off on their taxes (you are not a registered charity)
you will have to report the income on your taxes.

But seriously if this really happened you are dumb and why would anybody give you money. That said, we all know that you are probably some scammer in Nigeria who refuses to get a real job.

he thinks he will make money in tax write-offs if he donates his recently totalled car. given the time he spent registering and posting to all those forums (including this one), he could have made more money working at McDonalds for a week then he would get from a shady "random stranger" funded donation website that nobody will ever see.
it's funny (and sad) how much effort some people will put into trying to avoid taking responsibility for their own actions.

Crazy, i was going to say i get those emails all the time. like 1 a day at least. but i dont have any right now. comcast must have a better filter now. 
My friend at work had a guy try to buy his trailer from europe or iraq or some unknown country. Wanted him to cash a check he had that was more then the trailers price. and then send half the money back to pay for shipping or some stupid crap like that. i think my friend had him send the check and kept telling him it didn't show up. i think he sent a couple checks to him.

You remember that internet thing a while ago where the guy got a Nigerian scammer really good? Something like even having him get a tatoo, I think he was pretending to be part of a church or charity or something... Man I need to find that website!

^^^ that squirrel one killed me! I used to have a '99 Malibu and running
off the road and wrecking it is probably the best thing to happen to it.....
