What year Ford Ranger should i get? and other question (see my post)
If i decide i want to get a ford ranger, should i get an older one ('97) that has a little extra cab space (for the occasional third passenger or for backpack when raining), or should i get a newer one ('00)?
So you know, this would be my first vehicle.
Also, how much would one of those covers for the bed cost? not one of those big ones designed for you to sleep in, just the one that covers it, hope you know what i mean.

Depends on what's important to you. The older Rangers have a beefier suspension (also a little harsher ride) and old feeling interior. The newer ones have a much better version of the 4.0L (only engine to bother with) and more refinements throughout . Check wikipedia, they have a great article on the Ranger. If you can drive stick try to find a 5 spd, they use a Mazda unit that is much stronger than the Ford auto, and they get significantly better real world mileage. Also if you want a 4x4 try to find one with the floor shifter instead of the electric shift units. They are more common in the older trucks but I think they hung around and are found in a few newer trucks.

Better yet...
Act like an adult and make your own decisions about important purchases rather than relying on the opinions of a bunch of anonymous nerds on the interwebz.
