Can one make or buy backlit keyboards?

This is purely to do with laptops and nothing to do with car computers.

Dell offers them but a local company I want to use doesn't for obvious reasons. Dell builds computers so they can easily put one in if it's compatible. So I'm wondering if I bought an Acer Aspire, is there any sort of aftermarket backlit keyboard I can buy to swap into it?

Dell e4300's have a backlit keyboard.

Are you seriously suggesting I swap the keyboard from a random Dell laptop into an Acer? Are you sure you're on the right forum?

Maybe you could hack some of the parts out of an external keyboard like this:
