This compressor is pretty compact and claims 250psi, so i'm tempted to grab that and use it to power the guns, only thing is it seems pretty high for such a small device.
Now to find a solenoid valve capable of 250psi...

I don't know about him, but after posting the other day I got mine back out.
It was all fun and games until when I hit my ignitor and no boom, only loud, eerie hissing.
I looked down and there were two huge cracks in my combustion chamber, which were now melted b/c of the hot gasses escaping. Sooo glad it didn't send shrapnel into me.
So, safety lesson. Regardless of whether a pipe fits on to another pipe, if it's not pressure rated and compatible with the solvent and other pipes you are using, DO NOT USE IT.
That being said, I'm still curious to see him have it in the car! At least it's remote...

Still working on it, keep running into problem however, the pneumatic route turned out to be a dead end for me. I can't find a decent compressor on 12v, or solenoids for that matter.
The new plan is to use "direct propane injection" but with solenoids on a delay off circuit instead of the hand operated valves.
Unfortunately works been kinda crazy as of late, just gotta find the time >.>

you're complicating yourself too much, just go to eBay and buy a used dry nitrous kit, it does exactly what you want, it takes gas from the tank through a solenoid into whatever you want at the press of a button, normally on a car you insert the nozzle into the engine intake so that the gas goes into the engine but in your case all you need is a solenoid and some kind of combustible gas, it doesn't have to be nitrous you can use propane too as well, just don't buy a wet kit because that'll inject gasoline as well
something like this:

What the !$*^
Why don't you just attach grenade launchers, or machine guns. This cannot not be legal, definitely not road legal. Good thing you live in Aus!

Compressed air is the way to go. Just get a quick release diaphragm type valve to open the flow to the spud. I used a 40mm Bunnings retic valve years ago and it worked like a charm. You probably can't buy them anymore form there because they have gone all crap quality like supercheap auto....
Anyway air is the best. It might take longer to pump up, but you only get one shot per go, so in the time it takes to pump up 100psi you would have already got out and reloaded another spud Don't use more than 60 - 100 max psi because it goes a bloody long way!

Have you seen the Spudgun Technology center? They have a ton of stuff there, including a PVC combustion powered spud cannon.
Also, they have a rapid fire, bolt action cannon.

Are you planning on attaching this a way so you can aim at least up and down b/c you can always turn the wheel left and right to aim those ways.

I think you have the wrong idea about Australia, Road Warrior (Mad Max) was a movie, not a documentary

awesome project. Spuds away!
Anyone remember this thread. http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/gene...l-gun-car.html paintball gun attached to the car. Not sure if this guy ever really did it.
Anyways, attached is a picture of my airgun that i built a year ago for a parade. It shot candy to the crowd from a pirate ship. http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/985866-post49.html <-- small post on the ship with a picture.
The black pipe is mostly the air chamber. The bigger white pipe goes 3 ways. 1- to the air chamber 2-release valve 3-air inlet connected to a pressure regulator ( that way i could dial in the correct air pressure, i needed low pressure so as not to kill someone in the crowd with candy). After the releas valve its just strait pipe where i would load candy into before fireing.
The plastic mount by the yellow trigger is a switch that i used to trigger sound effects from a pc (so that part is not normally needed)
So all you need is an air compressor or airpump (with slight modification to the inlet) to fill the air chamber. Then your mobile to shoot when ever.
I've messed around with sprinkler system valves. Most run 24VAC which is not in a car. but i have had luck with them working. My next air project was going to be an automatic ping pong ball launcher. The loader was my biggest challenge. I think i have most of the parts i need to build it. I just need a 3-4 inch actuator to load the next ping pong ball.
p.s. with candy i used 15-30 psi. if it was a spud with a tight fit maybe 100psi would be more then enough to blow a hole in the car in front of you. I would definatly do some trials with presure settings on the air system before you go out and shoot someone.

I must admitt, the thought of making a in-car coil/nail gun did accor to me after this spud cannon thing
But I would have placed them in the rear, so I could say "hello" to the driving to close
