This compressor is pretty compact and claims 250psi, so i'm tempted to grab that and use it to power the guns, only thing is it seems pretty high for such a small device.

Now to find a solenoid valve capable of 250psi...

Here is almost the same thing for 5.99 http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...temnumber=4077
i may pic one up next time im there.

For a cheap effective valve I used a sprinkler valve

http://www.rainbird.com/diy/products/valves/cp.htm

I believe they run on 24v. I used 3@9v batteries wired in series to get 27v. I fired the cannon with just a simple push button. You could easily wire that to your carputer and fire it from there. My cannon was made from schedule 40 PVC (white) DO NOT USE SCHEDULE 20.

For a 12v compressor look at two different options. A 12v compressor for air horns. There are commercial version which would work great. OR look at converting a air conditioning pump. When I was into 4X4'ing this was quite a popular thing to do.

Speaking of weapons on cars. Just saw this today. Discovery is going to put a battlebot cars show on the air. Weaponized cars with real guns!

http://www.botjunkie.com/2009/04/30/...uns/#more-1628

"In round one, the teams undertake a challenge-based phase where the vehicles race to destroy or defend exploding targets such as medieval castles or Mad Max style fuel depots. Then in round two, the “Weaponizers” are thrown into a Carmageddon Round — the rules are… there are no rules. It’s a gloves off test of what expertise these teams can draw on to achieve victory, which in WEAPONIZERS’ terms means there is only one vehicle left standing!"
