Leather or Cloth?
Ok guys, I've got the opportunity to possibly get a real steal on OEM Black leather seats for my car.
This means black black and more black.. Of course leather looks nice etc.. but how is it going to be come summer time? I suppose tinting the windows will help.. but I'm torn here, help me out!!

Leather Isn't too bad in the summer. As long as you have ac and are not sweating on it, then it will be good. The window tinting should also help alot. I say go for it. It will make you car look awesome.
Just my opinion.

Heh, leather will be much hoter when you actually get into your car after having it sit in the sun all day, but otherwise, ive never noticed much of a difference (I've got beiege leather). Altho if any of your friends wear short shorts, it might be a little uncomfortable getting in at first on a hot day.

Personally, I hate leather. It doesn't grip the butt, so during hard manouvers (ie. track driving) you slide around...Plus (in my car anyway, with no A/C) it is brutal in the summer.

If I had more room to store stuff (meaning more room than the space under my chair I'm sitting in) I'd buy the seats, and if need be, I'd simply swap 'em when I need to. Man, I need to buy my own house.. Man, I need to get a job that will afford me buying my own house.

All too true, I end up bracing myself with my elbow against the front passenger seat during such manuevers. And the current high end sport trend is leather with alacantra (sp?) inserts in the seat bottom and back, so that you stay in your seat.

I brace myself with my elbow and knee all the time anyway With my new suspension cornering is much less painful than it used to be.

I used to have black leather seats in my old 95 Trans Am..
I'll second the motion that leather is slippery, I've slipped and slid on many leather seats..
The trick is whether the seat holds you properly or not.. in my TA they were perfect, I wouldn't move an inch even in extreme hard manoeuvers (think donuts in parking lots at 30+mph ), but I had the side bolsters, etc set up properly..
In terms of summer heat, yeah leather is pretty bad if you don't have tints.. I use to burn my thighs when I first got in the car on super-hot days.. trick is to turn the car on, crank the A/C, and stand outside and have a smoke or something Once I got the windows tinted, it was bearable enough to just get in and drive..
Regardless, it only took about 5 mins before the seats were comfy again.. I'm definately getting leather put in to my beast..

Hate leather. Too hot in the summer (don't even thing about wearing shorts) and cold in the winter. I have a hybrid, Alacantra in the seating area and leather on the outside. Its pretty good and look nice too. ( http://www.edmunds.com/pictures/VEHI...6/000499-E.jpg)
I also agree with the grip, you slide around too much with leather. Just my opinion.

S4 Seating
TintedChrome,
The seats are from factory and are available when the exterior color is Negaro Blue or Black. In both cases the seats are blue. The seats only come in the S4 (not and A lines) and you also much have the sports package. The only bi-color combo is blue/black however I have seen people do custom jobs where it matches the color of their car. You probably can find tons of stuff on the custom work on www.audiworld.com
Like I said, I kinda like it cuz its the best of both worlds.
