250 Gee's? What? not for me I Easily pull 1-1 1/2 tera's a month, and have not once been "sold out"... but yeah I know of a friend that was through them
Currently in the lead for UP, and pretty far from the rest for that matter haha just thought i'd point that out (just waiting for someone with a seed box to blow me away hahaha)

Screw all of you. Screw you right in your ears!
I live in broadband hell.
The local telephone company has a monopoly on anything with a wire, and they are ridiculously expensive. $325/mo for 1.5mbit down/512k up
In most markets, you can get a full-bore T-1 for that!
I get a better value through radio-based DSL, but it's still slow.
Farquing monopoly.

Uhh... most all 3g data plans have a monthly transfer cap... wouldn't work all that well in a biz enviro. You'd rack up the extra charges quick.

IF I need some bandwidth in a pinch, I'll use my work aircard.
It's Verizon, but it works.
As long as I don't go over the 5GB monthly cap, it's all good.

That's the only thing that prevented me from going that route when I moved here.
Every major carrier has a cap: Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, and regional carriers as well.

If it were truly unlimited, then downloading all the torrents you could grab wouldn't be an issue, would it?

Meh, can tether with verizon for free. I was speaking of data cards only. Tethering is slower on CDMA networks than a data card ime.

It is Unlimited BUT if you get caught tethering there is a hefty fine and a torrent would stick out like a sore thumb on your bandwidth so thats why its not a good idea, but you cab do what you want

It is not unlimited. I pay for "unlimited" data on my AT&T account and I had a lengthy and quite heated debate over the phone with an AT&T manager on my bill. There is a 2Gb/mo maximum, and then they shut you off until you call them and explain what you have been doing to eat up 2Gb.

Well I consistently use more than the 2Gb/mo, and they havent kicked me off, but I do have to call regularly and say things like "it must have downloaded things from my pocket, sorry."
I have had the unlimited data usage since 2002/2003 with ATT before the Cingular merger, and before the split again. We have the same prices ($35/mo "unlimited") and no contract. So they may be more willing to let it go seeing as how we have no reason to stay with them. if you have a 2yr contract, they may just shut you off, never know.

Don't you mean 5 down and .75 up. I haven't any cable network that allows 5 up.

Go to Testmy.net and do one of their tests. They offer sustained test's and are much more accurate. These were mine The download test was done with a 100MB file so it goes well beyond Comcast's "Powerboost." DOCSIS 3 FTW!
To prove my point, first is a test I just ran at Speedtest.net. I'd love to say I got 100 Mbps, but it's just not the case. The two tests shown after this are my "real world" speeds.
::::::::::.. Download Stats ..::::::::::
Download Connection is:: 27588 Kbps about 27.6 Mbps (tested with 102391 kB)
Download Speed is:: 3368 kB/s
Tested From:: http://testmy.net/ (Main)
Test Time:: 2009/05/21 - 9:22pm
Bottom Line:: 481X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 0.3 sec
Tested from a 102391 kB file and took 30.404 seconds to complete
Download Diagnosis:: Awesome! 20% + : 327.32 % faster than the average for host (Comcast.net)
