Computer keeps rebooting...

I was wondering if anyone has ever had this problem...

My desktop computer and my gf's computer are in the same apartment on the same network on my comcast cable internet.

Today they have both been restarting every 20 minutes or so (at different times) with the following message:

I had to take a picture, because i couldnt get a screenshot...

ideas welcome,

astral

to actually help you with the question restarting a winnt, 2k, or xp box is extremely easy, basically shutdown -m \\<comp name> can do it with the right permissions. I noticed the whole "RPC" in there, make sure you have all the latest updates, especially the most recent RPC hole fix.

Yup, sounds like you got yourself a genuine RPC exploit. Check out microsoft.com for the patch.

I don't personally call my *** a "bot", but the term has been used It's just a truncated use of the term "bottom", as in derrier, ***, arse, butt, twin-cheeks etc...

astral - Did you solve it? If not, what type of firewalls are you running, and is your WinXP set to block remote connections?
