Opinions Polk Momo or Alpine Type R?
Just as the subject states either a Polk Momo MM12 or an Alpine Type R 12. I know people usually get biased on these type of questions but I want to know overall if you have heard them which one would you go for. I am looking for a single sub setup and I am not going to provide music for the whole block. I usually listen to electronica music.

for a single sub setup typeR would be the best. I have heard them and they sound great. They are one of Alpines best. And based on rating they should pump out more power than the polk. So for you it depends on budget, the type R is a little more $ but IMO you get that much more quality.

Go with the polk MoMo's!! I have all Polk Audio mids and highs, and it sounds great, and that is not even the MoMo's,, I would imagine that they would sound even better!

I think you should find someone (or somewhere) that has momo and the alpine. Listen to them both and choose what one sounds best to you. High end stereo equipment usually doesn't sound a whole lot of different from one brand to another, and where they do it's a matter of what type of music you listen to, and personal preference on what sounds "better".

Heres some info:
What type of box?
Custom sealed enclosure
Air space:
Depends on sub
Amp:
Nothing that is dirty bass, just good clean sound
Input signal:
PCI soundcard
I going to buy all my equipment at the same time. I plan to have 4 component 6.5's in the car powered by an amp as well.
Also people have been telling me that Im better off with a 10 instead of a 12 inch.

I just bought a Polk Momo 12" a few weeks ago.
Circuit city carries both subs if you want to go hear them personally.
At circuit city, the just the Alpine Type R sub is $199. After rebate, the Polk Momo 12 and a sweet looking plexiglass box is only $129.99 (retails instore for $379!). To cash in, use their online circuitcity.com website to place the order. If you're lucky, you're local store will still have it instock for instore pickup.
The box is one the smallest I've seen for a 12". It sounds good too, but it will need quite a bit of power. I would say at least 400W RMS, since you're working from scratch buy at least a 5-600W RMS @ 4ohm amp.
At this price its a no brainer. You got 30days to try it. It comes with a 3yr warranty. And, if you don't like it you can sell it on ebay for a profit (I guess people don't check circuitcity.com before making bids).
