I need to get out of the house
You know you're a mega-nerd when:
a) You own more than 5 computers
2) They're all on, all the time
III) You run out of things to add to all of them and start eyeballing your other components for mods
#!@$) All of the above
The desktop, configured for direct CarPC development and Shoutcast broadcasting:
But wait, what's that over to the left? A stereo receiver? Hmmm....
That thing's been overheating due to the new speakers, so let's add fans. No, better yet, let's add two! NO! WAIT! Let's make them LIGHTED!!!
Holy CRAP I need to get out more....
/ashamed to be King of Nerds

Actually, what makes me truly ashamed about this is that I got so geeked about the final product that I started trying to plan out how to turn the fans on and off via voice control.....
*sigh*

Thanks! It's actually the second mod I've done to it. The first was taking it to a friend in the know who bridged the amp for me, so now I have only Channel A for speakers, but at twice (I think) the wattage output! W00t! That was another reason I had been considering some active cooling. That thing gets HOT.

Haha perhaps I am ALMOST the nerdiest!!!! but I ONLY have 7 computers and 3 are on all the time PLUS Ximeta netdisks 80 and 250, NasRAQ, and Wifi. I hope to have 2 more computers soon, carputer (well an EPIA 12000 and Liliput) and a kiosk (snailey celeron 533 or something like that) should be coming next week. I will set up the whole carputer in the lab before attempting to install it (get all of the bugs aut first). And yes, I have no CRT monitors (6 TFTs and a laptop), I always bag on CRTs I say 'they have a HUGE ***!!'. As you can see, I am infatuated, enamored, whatever by playing with computers.

Ok, not by any means the nerdiest here, but score me down for:
On my 4 port KVM:
1) P4 2.4 on all the time, with PVR for recording stuff
2) M10000 HTPC in S3 standyby so I can quickly turn on, listen to music, ect
3) 2500+ Barton with Dual Channel memory off most of the time, for gaming
4) open "bay" for setting up projects
in the closet :
1) 1.2 Athlon system built to sell
2) 3100A+ mobile processor machine built to sell
3) Shuttle cube working on for a friend
4) 1ghz HP fixer upper
On the wireless:
1) 233mhz Uniwill sub compact (Bathroom web surfer )
2) 400mhz IBM 600e for downstairs in-front-of-the-tv use
3) 433mhz Barbi Pc in the baby's room
On the wall:
1) Yamaha digital 5.1 surround system
In the garage
1) moms original Tandy 1000 complete but useless
2) Compaq desktop that wont run anything but win95
3) tons and tons and tons of useless cases, cards, burned up power supplies, ect. Cant throw it away but not good enough to keep.

I need more computer, I only have 4, and only two of them on all the time (well really only 1 1/2 I suspend the other when im not using it) And I have no LCDS , I will be getting one for my bedroom when this CRT gives in (its 5 yrs old and showing it, its made funny spark noises twice) However I am not even considering a LCD for my main computer, the size doewsn't bother me, and the quality of a good flat CRT is soo much better than a LCD (mainly with fast moving games LCD's have this ghosty look)
However I have been plaining having my whole room run by my computer, lights alarm tv etc yet I don't have the money to do it ATM, however it shouldn't be too hard (although part of the wish list was a plasma screen connected to my computerfor DVD's TV and games and the cool factor. I can keap wishing and maybe I will get to start to turn my plain bedroom into a surrond sond entertainment room + bed.

I just cleaned up all my computer crap. I threw away two truckloads full. Everything I kept can fit in a 1 foot square box. (Anything of value I sold to work.)
