Presenting me, my car and my project.

Hello, first of all i want to say thanks for a good forum.
Now when the time has come for my project to begin I registered.
yesterday i ordered a Lilliput that will be the face for my carputer and tha hardware is my old HP omnibook 6100 since the monitor gave up.

My car: Volvo 240 GLE -84

And heres where the monitor will go.


The goals
*mp3player
*gpsnavigation
*wlan for wardriving and move music from my homenetwork

p.s im litte unshore if this topic should go under "showing off my project" instead but i take a wildshot

i don't know the english word for it but its a
"coupéheater" theres also one for the engine, i live in north sweden and its pretty cold in the winter. so plug it in and you have a nice warm and easystared car the next day, and most important, no need to scrape the frost from the windows

Oh, makes sense. The only time I see snow is when I stick my head in the freezer.

Nice to see more Swedish members, I got the very same model of the heater in my car too The laptop-with-broken-screen idea seems to be the smartest way to go, why isnt it more common?

i think laptop is the best way since its small, the power aint that big issue and you got batteri so when you stop for half an hour somwhere the carputer if still working wont drain from the car.
the negative side is the prise for a laptop, but the otherhand you can get it for nice prise if you find someone selling with brooken screen
