Comcast internet problems...modem?

Anyone else out there using Comsuck? I have had their service for about 2 years...it has gotten slower and slower and they have raised their rates more and more....and I have lived with it. But since about december, I have been having to reset my Modem about 2x a week. I finally got fed up and returned it, got a shiny new one (different brand and all) went thru all the stupid registering and all..and it seems to be the same way. I have just had to reset it for the 2nd time in a week. Any ideas? Is it the provider just really sucking, or could it be more in the wiring to the modem (eg, house, street wiring?). I just dont understand what part is fowled up when it has to be reset, like does it loose info, or is it a glitch? All my connections are good, I am using a 802.11b router and I have tried with and without, same results. Thanks for the help.

I don't have any answers for you, but I do know my Comcast has slowed WAY down this week - used to be 3000Kbps like they advertise, but now I am lucky to get 400Kbps.

Visit www.dslreports.com, they have a sub forum for Comcast. They might be able to find the source of your problem. Be forwarned that from what you have posted, those complains seems to be avg for Comcast.

I had to choose between keeping Verizon, which I HATED, and going to this 2 years ago. Thinking about going back to Verizon. GRRRRRrrr
