OT: McDonalds Stupidaty
Read on but and you get the jist... but before I sent this email to them I visted their web site and rang their 'help' line and spoke to some one.
For those out side the Uk and does not know where The Isle of Man is - its in between the North of England and Ireland ( and by this I mean the sea before any one says owt )
Right... first email:-
Hi, Some of this is in jest so I do appoligise first - but I did find this so funny and I thought I should share it. I am currently planning a trip to the Isle of Mann next week - thought I'd find out if there was McD's there so tried your web site. Nothing shown. So been in IT my self and knowing about these things I thought I'd try your 'help' line for the first time ever ( been a long time Mac Lover ) - After much thought the lady who answered went away to check - after a while came back and also said no there is no MacD's there. Now I accept it as normal ( due to the high standards of my local drive through ) that fries or even a drink can be forgoten - but not a whole restrant. The day after the IOM T&T board sent me a load of info. This included one map of Douglas - the main town - and an advert for .... yep Mc Donalds. So just in case you lost the its details... you can find it on Peel Road - Tel 618155... On a serious note... I thought this should be noted as there may be others out there and I did find it frustrating ( and funny ) that your selves had no idea you had one there. Many Thanks
I thought that would be pretty clear - until today - my god they have no hope do they....

The Isle of White Is off the South coast of the UK.... think they need a map.... soooo.... couldn't help but sending a mail back...
Now.. I know your trying but - a) I said the Isle of Man b) there is no Douglas
in the Isle of White...
I think I might just post these emails on the net - they are so funny... no
wonder you keep loosing restrants when you can't work out where they are...
T
Thought that might bring a smile to a few faces - I mean what else can you do but laugh...

That is a pretty good email string. I have no idea about the location you are talking about, but in either case it shows how oblivious they are about their own corporation/franchise.
I think he emailed them to let them know they are a bunch of morons because the website and the help line didnt know there is a McD's in Douglas on the isle of mann (i think i got that right). Then when the emailed back, they referred to a location not even remotely close to where he was talking about.

The Isle of Man is only about 33 miles by 10 miles I think... pretty hard to loose some thing like a restrant....

So were you seriously wondering where this McD's was? Shouldn't this go into the off topic forum instead of General Discussion with an OT prefix?

Yeh - Sad I know - watched Pulp Fiction once - decided to try McD's where ever I was in the world ... and its true it did taste better in France..
For any one else... here is a map. IOM is the sploge in bettween the UK where Lancatster is shown and Ireland ie where Belfast is shown

yeah, no kidding, they have McDonalds where they don't have gas stations. I noticed 3 or 4 on the isolated toll roads of Oklahoma on my cross country trip a month back.

Just saw this movie and it absolutely scared the **** out of me. I recommend you all download or rent it immediately. I don't think I'll ever eat fast food again.
