Run a really really long USB cable.

AIM has it built in. Yahoo messenger. Netmeeting. Set up a website.

I'd suggest net meeting. It can be hacked, but 1) who's going to hack you? and 2) who cares if a random hacker catcher your baby sleeping.

Id set the baby's computer to auto accept calls and auto broadcast video. That way you can "call" on your computer hwen you need to take a peek.

The other route is an ethernet camera accessable from any networked computer. There are much better quality but a bit pricey.

But most do At least any half-decent one
Remote Administration and VNC do.

Symantect pcAnywhere ?

you install on both and you can do anything you want on the 2nd pc with the 1st. pretty cool.

I use it at work to remote fix PCs.

Check out SupervisionCam.

I love this little app. It detects motion by comparing one frame to the next.

Free version only has the one nag screen at start. Plus each picture gets stamped with "SupervisionCam Unregistered" at the bottom, but it's not too obtrusive. I think it costs US$20 to register it.
