*rant* So... whats with the civics?

I find it interesting, but in my area there are a boatload of riced-out civics. Its really getting annoying cause whenever one pulls up next to me at a stoplight it tries to race me. Revving the engine and all that crap. I of course... never race. But it gets annoying how I see at least two or three every time I drive across town, and at least one wants to race. Anyone else have this plauge of civics in their area?

Think I can fit a northstar in my non-riced civic ?
That would be cool when a ricer pulls up beside me

Those ricer dorks give a bad name to the rest of the Civic community. I like my Civic because it has decent acceleration, an outstanding transmission, and amazing fuel efficiency (40mpg to be exact!).

And you drive a Probe.

I have nothing against civics I just dont like the ones that think they are cool and fast cause they got tons of stickers and crap on their cars lol. I'm gonna try the revving, then creeping on green. Be especially cool after my S/C kit arrives. Oh, and my probe is red so maybe that has something to do with it hehe. I should go get a job with the police as an instigator. Basically, you instigate ricers into racing, then creep off the line. The cops catch the ricer for street racing and give you money :P

That's called entrapment. It's illegal. And even if it wasn't, that's just wrong, man.

Ha, I thought you were talking about Civics on this board!!! Just going off topic, seems that Civics are the most popular for mp3car members, followed by the Accord and...the 350Z!! I've lost count of how many lucky b*stards have got their hands on one of those here!! Also a lot of Audi's too.

Fin.

OP, where in MD are you from? I grew up in Rockville, and yes, there are a ton of suped out hondas, epsecially since Fast & Furious.

I don't pretend I'm fast though. I don't race. I do love the handling on my car.

I have some mods that improve my preformance and looks such as: Eibach Sportline Springs -1.75" drop, Enkei Sportline rims - 17", Continental ExtremeContact Tires - 215/45/17.

I do however have some mods that are simply aestically pleasing (that don't have any functionality)..such as 9006 Hyper White Bulbs, White Corner Bulbs, Whiteout headlites, Brightwhite Reverse lights,Apexi Muffler, 35% Window Tint

Then, of course there is the carputer.

I hate people who try to race everyone with their hondas. But I respect anyone who customizes their car. Normal is boring. Especially with Hondas.

I agree with myko. Too many civics and accords out there not to customize. I don't own one myself, but if I did I'l mod the heck out of it.

If you come to SoCal then you will stop complaining about everyon on their Civics try to race with you.
Yes, my family member did own a 98 Civic, and I have nothing against the car. Just the suckers behind the wheel. The car is freaking good for city driving especially with gas milleage and somewhat reliable.
Seriously how can you race with a Civic DX with just a coffee can muffler and tons of sticker? Some civics owners also go extreme with turbos their civics, but I don't see the point of turboing the civics. Sell it and get the S2K or RSX if you like honda.
Sometimes, there are coffee can muffler Civics do want to race with me in my Supra. I just laught.

Children are just influenced by what they see on TV. Plus, they market tons of little plastic pieces to add on like it's a toy or something, sound thingies, and flashy lights, and stuff with some "make your car fast & furious" hype just to trash out a perfectly good, economical car. Some of them look nice, like the ones that go through the trouble of painting the new parts, and others think they can take a turn like a Porche and brake a wheel off or something. That's kinda bad.

I think it's only entrapment when the cops (or an agent of the law) does it. Though you might br braking other laws (the do-not-incite-idiots law ), who knows.
