I've been using the f-word a lot lately in posts. I've also been harsh on some n00bs. (What else is new?!)
Is it me, or are there a lot more n00bs that are asking us, the MP3Car regs, to make decisions on their installs that really should be made by them?
I'm not talking for help figuring out how to wire the screen to power on or whether an Opus 90w will power their P43.0, 1GB RAM, 400GB HDD, two wireless NICs, GeForce 6800XT card, Hauppage TV card, etc. and so on.
I'm talking about the quesitons like "Where should I mount my 7" Liliput?".
Dammit, people, it's your computer going into your ride!! That's something for you to figure out, not us!!!
If I decide where to put your screen and you don't like it, who's to blame? Frankly, I don't want Joe N00b coming back to me and saying they don't like where the screen is located because I suggested he mount it on the floorboard or whatever.
Realistically, there are only a few places you can practically locate your screen or your computer or your optical drive and have them be accessible and functional. Experiment a little. Think about it. Use your own ******* brain cells, not ours!
None of the regs enjoy seeing n00bs ask questions that have been answered countless times before. But it happens, and I understand that. Although I do think
WizardPC enjoys the posts about motorized VGA in-dash monitors, but that's another story.
It's one thing for a n00b to not use the tools. N00bs usually don't (there are those rare exceptions). But it's another to rely on outside help, namely a bunch of people that you've never met.
So if you want my advice on where to mount your screen, I'm going to suggest you shove it up your *** until you figure it out your own damn self.
Show some balls people. It's not like this decision is going to result in loss of life & limb.
I'll probably get banned for this post. Me and my goat.
